Outcomes : Posterior Cervical fusion

Outcomes : Posterior Cervical fusion

Occasionally, fusion of two or more vertebrae in the cervical spine via a posterior approach is required. This is often done in conjunction with a decompression (laminectomy or laminoplasty) but sometimes this is not required, for example in some cases of spinal fracture. The most common technique is with lateral mass screws, though pedicle screws, laminar screws, posterior C1 arch screws and “pars” screws to C2 can also be used. Sub-laminar wiring is very rarely performed by Dr Sergides.
